What’s Your Beef?: Beef Salpicao

Beef Salpicao

Makes 4 servings

6 Tbsps Olive oil

2 Tbsps Minced garlic

1/2 tsp Garlic powder

2 Tbsps Light soy sauce

2 Tbsps Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp Brown sugar

*Paprika, to taste

*Cayenne pepper, to taste

500g Wagyu striploin*

*Oil for frying

3/4 cup Mushrooms

2 Tbsps Oyster sauce

2 Tbsps Butter

Garnish:

Roasted garlic

Chives

  1. Combine olive oil, garlic, garlic powder, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, paprika, and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Mix well. Marinate beef in the mixture for at least two hours, preferably overnight.
  2. In a very hot pan, sauté beef until evenly browned. Add mushrooms and sauté for another minute.
  3. Add oyster sauce and after a few seconds, add the butter. Remove from heat. Serve immediately with roasted garlic, chives, and pesto fried rice.

Pesto Fried Rice

Makes 4 servings

4 Tbsps Olive oil

2 Tbsps Minced garlic

1/2 Red bell pepper, diced

1/4 Carrot, sliced

2 2/3 cups Day old rice

2 Tbsps Prepared pesto

Spicy atsara

  1. In a hot wok, add olive oil and sauté the garlic, bell pepper, and carrots. Stir fry for about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add in the day old rice and cook until heated through.
  3. Mix in the prepared pesto. Serve with spicy atsara.
