This Rustic Pear Tart Will Go Great With Any Kind of Brew

Looking for that dessert that’s easy to do but could easily impress anyone in the dinner table? Then prepare this rustic pear tart made with just a few ingredients and that could be done in just four steps. You can even substitute it with Granny Smith apples for another fruity variant.

Makes 4-6 servings

1 sheet Frozen puff pastry
3 Pears, thinly sliced, about ⅛-¼ inch thick
2 Tbsps Unsalted butter
¼ cup Brown sugar
¼ cup White sugar
½ tsp Ground cinnamon
¼ tsp Ground nutmeg

  1. Cut puff pastry on a clean, lightly-floured work surface into rectangles, about 6 x 10-inches. Place the pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. With the tip of a paring knife, score the pastry, about ½-inch from the edges.
  2. Combine the butter, brown sugar, white sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Using a pastry brush, generously brush top of the puff pastry with the butter mixture. Leaving a ¾-inch border, shingle the pear slices on top of the puff pastry, alternating directions to create a wave-like pattern.
  3. Brush the top of the pears with the remaining butter mixture. Chill for 20 minutes.
  4. While tart is chilling, preheat oven to 400°F. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool for five minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream.
