You’ve Got To Try Our Super Delicious Red Pasta

Mamma mia! We’re seeing red all over this gorgeous pasta dish. Using red bell peppers, red wine, spicy sausage, and the new Clara Olé Red Pesto Pasta Sauce made with the intensity of sun-dried tomatoes, you’re gonna fall head over heels with this hearty Red Pasta that’s overflowing with creamy goodness. Garnish with some basil chiffonade for a sophisticated finish and pair it with a glass of red wine for an elevated eating experience.

 

RED PASTA     
Makes 4-5 servings

2 Red bell peppers
2 Tbsps Olive oil
3 pcs Spicy sausage, sliced diagonally
½ Red onion, chopped
3 cloves Garlic, minced
3 Tbsps Sliced black olives
1 ½ Tbsps Capers
½ cup Red wine
1 pack Clara Olé Red Pesto Pasta Sauce
¼ cup All-purpose cream
Pinch of McCormick Oregano Ground
McCormick Iodized Salt, to season
Freshly-ground black pepper, to season
500g Penne pasta, cooked al dente
10 Basil leaves, chiffonade

  1. Grill the bell peppers over an open flame until charred. Place them in a bowl and cover with cling wrap. Allow peppers to steam. Peel off the skins, slice open, and discard stems and seeds. Slice peppers into strips. Set aside.
  2. In a large sauté pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté sausages until toasted. Remove when done. Add onion and cook until translucent. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced red peppers, black olives, and capers. Cook for another two minutes. Pour red wine and let the alcohol evaporate, about a minute.
  4. Pour in the Clara Olé Red Pesto Pasta Sauce and let it cook with the other ingredients. Add all-purpose cream then season with oregano, salt, and freshly-ground black pepper. Let it simmer over low heat for about three minutes.
  5. Add sausage back to the sauce together with the cooked penne. Mix well until pasta is heated through then transfer to a platter. Top with basil just before serving.
