There’s a scene in the Scorcese boxing noir, Raging Bull, where anti-hero Jake La Motta played by a young gritty De Niro was demanding for his steak dinner. “Don’t overcook it, if you overcook it, it’s no good. It defeat’s its own purpose,” the black and blue-faced boxer explains in black and white.

If only La Motta dined in Shangri-La the Fort’s Raging Bull Chophouse then he didn’t need to worry about his beef or go mental over his meal.

Stylish and sophisticated, Raging Bull pulls out all the punches from its extensive and well-curated beef fest sourced from well-established Australia and US cattle farms up to the exquisitely-decked out 1960’s-inspired interiors you’d expect Don Draper in, as he swigs down a glass of Old-Fashioned. Steak aficionados would appreciate the top-caliber beef brands offered in Raging Bull like Mayuri, Blackmore, Jack’s Creek, and 1824, that’s been cooked to your liking over a sleek Josper grill. Whether you opt for a rib eye, T-bone, Tomahawk, or rump-cut style, be it a grass-fed or grain-fed variety, even if you settle for that night’s recommendation or go big with wagyu that’s accompanied with a variety of choice sidings, you’ll feel like a champion by the end of the meal.

Other must-try selections created by Raging Bull chef de cuisine Nathan Griffin include Lobster Bisque, Caesar Salad, Grilled 4 Bones Lamb Rack, Kurubota Pork Chop, and line-caught Mahi-mahi Fillet. By the end of the night, treat your date to sweet offerings like Candy Floss Pavlova or Granny Smith Apple Cobbler. Not into desserts? Then have a sublime meal ender of choice cheese slices partnered with a cold libation.

Speaking of drinks, the bar component of the restaurant though takes its cue from the US’ Prohibition Era when drinking alcohol was considered a sin and underground watering holes were saviors. Have your drinks bespoke or choose from designer cocktails created by head mixologist Ulysse Jouanneaud.

With concoctions like Bonifacio Penicillin  (bourbon, calamansi, ginger jam, Sezchuan honey and egg white) and El Toro Loco (tequila, vermouth, cucumber, agave nectar, and lime juice), it won’t be a surprise if you suddenly find yourself parking at the bar for the rest of the meal.
