Easy Zingy Fried Chicken with Honey Mustard Dip

Makes 5-6 servings

Leg quarters, divided into leg and thigh portions

  • Salt and pepper

2 Tbsps Sriracha hot sauce

1 cup All-purpose flour

1 tsp Paprika

1 tsp Chili powder

½ tsp Garlic powder

½ tsp Onion powder

  • Oil, for frying

3 Tbsps Prepared yellow mustard

1 ½ Tbsps Pure honey

1 Tbsp Mayonnaise

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  1. In a large bowl, generously season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Drop in the sriracha sauce and toss to coat.
  2. Mix together the flour, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder in a large plastic bag. Place the chicken pieces inside, seal, and toss around gently to cover each piece with the flour mixture. Transfer to a clean container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Pour vegetable oil into a deep pan with high sides to about ¼-inch depth. Bring to a steady 350°F heat over medium high heat. Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown on all sides. Drain in a colander until all pieces are cooked. Serve hot with the honey mustard dip.
  4. For the dip, mix all ingredients in a small bowl and transfer to a serving bowl. Chill dip before serving.
