Korean Spaghetti Bolognese
Gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste) is an amazing pantry staple! It's slightly sweet and has a slow-burning, subtle heat that can liven up a lot of dishes. We're using it in this not-so-Korean Korean recipe for spaghetti bolognese.
  • Olive oil
  • 0.2 kg ground pork
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ white onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp gochujang hot pepper paste
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 handfuls of spaghetti
  1. In a hot pan, add olive oil.
  2. Sauté the pork on medium heat until browned.
  3. Add garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. Sauté until onions are translucent.
  4. Add gochujang and tomato paste, and mix in the milk. Cook for a few minutes.
  5. Toss the spaghetti in the sauce.
  6. Mix in the cheddar cheese.
  7. Add a little pasta water.
  8. Top with more grated cheese and serve.
