Bake these indulgent cookies for your sweetie for Valentine’s Day

Chocolate Salted Caramel Cookies

Makes 28-30 cookies

1 cup Butter compound

2 1/4 cups All-purpose flour

1/2 tsp Baking soda

1/4 tsp Salt

1/2 cup Dutch processed cocoa powder

1 cup Dark brown sugar

1/2 cup White sugar

3 large Eggs

2 tsps Vanilla extract

1 bag Kraft caramels, cut into bits 

2 cups Melted chocolate

1 Tbsp Rock sea salt

  1. Melt the butter compound in a metal mixing bowl inside an oven while it’s preheating at 350°F.   
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder in a bowl and whisk to fully incorporate. Set aside.
  3. When the butter has completely melted remove from the oven, add the dark brown sugar and white sugar using a wooden spoon and mix until completely blended and butter has cooled.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time still using the wooden spoon to blend.
  5. Add the vanilla. Once combined, add the dry ingredients and stir until the batter is smooth. Refrigerate for a few minutes until the mixture becomes chilled and easier to handle.
  6. Scoop the soft dough into your hands and make an indent using your fingers, add as much caramel chips as you can and fold over the dough to enclose the caramel into the cookie ball.
  7. Set the balls on a lined pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 7-12 minutes or  until the bottom sides are baked. 
  8. Once cookies are baked let them cool on a baking rack. When cool, dip the cookies into a bowl of melted dark chocolate then set on parchment lined trays. Sprinkle sparingly with some salt and allow it to stick onto the soft chocolate coating.
